Drawing from a diverse range of evidence-based modalities, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Insight-oriented, trauma-focused counseling, I am dedicated to guiding individuals to cultivate resilience, self-awareness, and a deeper connection to themselves and the world around them.
My unique cultural sensitivity and humility as a bilingual and multicultural therapist, born and raised in Japan and other countries, enriches my practice. My mission is to empower individuals to nurture resilience, self-awareness, and a profound connection to themselves and the world around them.

Work History:
After obtaining my BA in sociology from UCLA, I gained extensive experience in various private sectors before transitioning to a substantial role in higher education in Southern California. Over the course of nearly 12 years, I held diverse positions, including executive assistant, visa coordinator, student affairs officer for PHD students, interdisciplinary training program coordinator, research and grant administrator, and website management in Research Fund Management. Subsequently, driven by my aspiration to complete my Master's in social work degree, I embarked on a fulfilling career transition.
During my initial field practicum, I primarily supported elderly populations who were homebound due to severe psychiatric and/or physical illnesses. Engaging in assessments, counseling, and extensive case management, I provided invaluable support to my clients.
My subsequent field practicum at the San Diego LGBT Center was an enriching experience. Under the guidance of a clinical psychologist, I received comprehensive training and directly offered therapy services to clients from diverse sexual orientations, gender identities, and cultural backgrounds. Despite the premature conclusion of this exceptional opportunity due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the lessons I gleaned continue to resonate with me. I am fervent about delivering gender-affirming therapy services
